I can’t believe it, but about a month ago we celebrated my baby sister at her bachelorette party. It was a great weekend and my sister and her friends had such a great time. My middle sister put together the most beautiful bachelorette party, from the food she picked to the decorations, to the house we stayed at. All of the details were perfect. I did help decorate when we got there, but I have to give the credit to her. She did such an awesome job. She was able to order all of the decorations from Amazon and Target. We went grocery shopping the day before and our aunt made the most adorable and delicious cookies. The weekend was perfect, even with covid. I’m happy we were able to give her the weekend she deserves!
The first step in throwing a beautiful bachelorette party is deciding how many people will be attending. Since my sister has 12 girls in her wedding party, we decided the 12 girls in her wedding party plus her was a great number. After that, we had to find a place to stay. Since we were going down to the Lake of the Ozarks, we decided on a house overlooking the lake. When we arrived to the house, it ended up being an apartment and before we walked in we were a little skeptical. But boy, were we surprised. The pictures on the site didn’t even do it justice. And it was right on the lake! Just look at this beautiful view.
Next it’s time to plan the decorations. My sister stated she didn’t want the typical bachelorette party decorations. No penises or anything like that. Which honestly, we were fine with. It’s overplayed and tacky, IMO. So I was glad when she didn’t want any of that stuff. My middle sister picked out really classy and personal decorations which made the weekend so nice and added such a personal touch to it all.
Then you need to plan the food. My sister made a list of all the food we would need to buy and the food we would need to make. We made oreo pops to go with the theme of green/black/white. My aunt made adorable cookies. And then we went grocery shopping for easy to store/make foods for the weekend. We did chips and dip and frozen pizza for Friday night. Then Saturday morning my middle sister made a sweet potato hash and we got bagels and donuts for breakfast. Saturday afternoon we spent at the pool where we all ordered lunch. Then Saturday night we went out to a nice restaurant. Sunday morning was just grab what you want from the bagels/donuts/leftover sweet potato hash. We had the girls bring their own alcohol but provided the ingredients for mimosas. Because who doesn’t love a good mimosa?!
My middle sister also put together two adorable games for us to play Friday night. One game played was the panty game where each girl brought a pair of underwear, we put them into a bag, and the bride had to guess who brought which pair. She didn’t do too well, which made it even more fun. The second game was Wedding Jeopardy. Some of the categories were typical things about weddings and some were personal to the bride and groom. It was a lot of fun! We also gave the bride a gift bag with a sash, a hat, a jewelry dish, and other little nice gifts for the weekend and a board where we all “kissed the miss goodbye” and put our little kiss marks with our signature for the bride to remember the weekend by!
Overall, we had a terrific weekend! We even got to socially distance at the pool, which was nice!
